Here I go again, stepping through the rigamarole to say what needs saying:
Liverpool needs to win the Europa League next year to reclaim its self-respect that it's garnered in the Klopp era. There are no two ways about it. Now, if they lose in the tournament in a tough way, as is the case for so many teams each year, in spite of some good play, of course then there is reason to see hope for the next year. But an English Cup only would seem a pittance at this stage considering the standard that's been set for these men and women. A League title, of course, would be self-respectable as well. Anyone who wins the League title gets a Healthy dose of respect. But this group of players and management should feel like the Europa is there's for the taking at this point, and nothing less should be accepted.
All that being said, the Europa Title has to go through the Massive, indomitable, juggernaut that is the current Champions of Europe, the West Ham Hammers Irons. (Pending an agreement between Declan Rice and the club that is. I fear without a commitment to Declan Rice the hole in the collective Hammers' hearts may be too great to plug)
