I have the most extreme case of lifelong PE and the only thing that has ever worked are SSRIs.
I tried dapoxetine but benefits were minimal and side effects were too annoying. Best solution I found that worked wonders for a couple of years was Paroxetine 20mg, but unfortunately it gradually lost its effect down to a point that it merely adds a few seconds to my issue.
I’m planning of seeing an urologist soon and trying a different SSRI at a mid-high PE appropriate-dose to see if this helps. I’m not too optimistic as I know Paroxetine has been proved to have the best effect, but I’m desperate to find an alternative. If no SSRI works for me anymore, I’ll see if I can get Silodosin prescribed and give that a try.
Has anyone else been on an SSRI for a few years now and had it lost its effect for PE? I want to see if others have encountered similar cases like me of tolerance buildup as there is almost no research on this phenomenon.
