Cerclage fell off and now I’m on bedrest
Post Body

I got a cerclage at 12 weeks in Houston where I was studying my PhD. I got pregnant and had to come back to Dallas with my husband so I started seeing a different doctor who was monitoring my cervix every 2 weeks.

So this will sound crazy but two weekends ago (I was 28 weeks pregnant) I found a blue surgical thread hanging out of my vagina and I freaked out, the doctor asked me to go to his office the next Monday, he just pulled the thread and it came out so easily that we were all very impressed: God knows how long I’ve been around without the cerclage!

In my other pregnancies I lost the babies at 21 and 26 weeks so it’s a miracle that this baby made it to 28. The doctor put me in the hospital for bedrest and I’ve been here two weeks, he wants me to stay at least until we hit the 32 weeks milestone for baby to be super safe to be born in case I go home and something happens.

I don’t know if my doc in Houston did an awful job putting that cerclage on or is it just something that happens regularly. I found some posts online about this happening but in the hospital everyone is saying they’ve never seen it happen before, so I’d like to know is this has happened to any of you or any person you know?
