I had my LEEP done on Feb 13th and started my period Feb 26th (after 10 days of taking dydrogesterone to make my cycle more regular). Normally my period lasts about 5 days with two heavier day, but now it's day 8 and the period still hasn't stopped.

It started very mild/spotting and was like that for the first three days, which was odd by itself, but now it's day 5 of heavy bleeding. I once soaked through my maxi absorbency period panties which hasn't happened before, and now have to wear heavy flow pads with the said period panties for extra protection.

Since the bleeding only started during my period, it's been almost 3 wks after LEEP and I don't soak the pad in few hours, I assume it's "normal" period flow and not an open vein that needs cauterizing? No massive pain or cramps, have managed with taking tranexemic acid to control the flow.

Is the first period supposed to be like this? Where is all the extra blood coming from - they only operated on my cervix, not my uterus, so I'm bit confused?
