Bad writing aside... the cinematography and directing this season are tremendous!

This last episode when Tommy discovers the gruesome scene... coupled with the heart-wrenching soundtrack, gives you chills!
There have been many other great moments this season. So rather than harp about the plot holes and such, I wanted to show a bit of appreciation for the wonderful presentation in these episodes!
