Preface 1: I hope Iām doing this right, š I donāt know how to indicate spoilers or if this post even qualifies. I hope itās evident by the episode number in the title that Iām going to be talking about scenes from that episode. So consider this your warning if you havenāt seen this episode :)
The real Preface: I have not been feeling this character at all. I donāt like the way itās written or how this actress pulls off the role. The character is so emotional, playing dirty in a really uninspired/clichĆ© way and always prematurely announcing her plays in such a tired, obvious way. I wish it had been done differently with someone more of the energy, intelligence, and lethality of shanti - but the āfedsā equivalent.
Anyways, the point of this post. So Iāve just reached S2 E8 where she pulls up on Tommy to threaten him after Vargas is killed. This is the first time she has caught my attention in a positive way. The line that sealed it for me:
If Miguel Garcia finds out that youāre fuckin his little sister, he might take you off the map before I do. Be careful Mr. Egan, Chicago is a very dangerous city.
Damnnnn, she really nailed the delivery and itās about time. She was calm, collected, and believable. Maybe itās because she was in the scene with Tommy and that helped elevate her performance.
It probably wonāt last but Iām glad I saw this moment of how strongly she could play this character with a different temperament.
