I'm the sort of person that will fixate on an artist/album and simply not let got for a couple of months. I also used to think that 'Power Metal - it's great stuff. But really lacking in lyrical literature except for the odd gem.'
And then I ended up listening to Avantasia's Ghostlights and Keldian's [Insert all albums here] , and going back to Sonata Arctica's stuff and really deciphering what the hell they were singing about...
What is your favorite band/album/song that gives you that rush of 'oh my god this is Shakespeare and Tolkien and Asimov in a threesome' sort of epiphany of good lyrics.
