Does bisque firing stuff piled together leave any marks on the pieces?

I've got a small kiln and I'd really like to fire more than I can fit if they weren't stacked up.

I've seen posts where potters filled up their kiln full of mugs all piled up on top of each other, no shelves interposed between mugs.

Do parts sitting on each other leave marks on each other during bisque firing? I've got two particularly well finished items that I'd like to stack, but I'm worried that they'd marr each other during the bisque firing.

Basically one is a bowl, the other is a plate. Could I fire the bowl on top of the plate without marring the plate?
