So l decided to book a 2 hour 1 on 1 wheel throwing class. I've never worked with clay or used a throwing wheel before but my ADD decided I needed a new hobby... I'm not sure how I feel about my pieces but the instructor assured me for a 1st time they were good. The problem is l'm a perfectionist and all I see are the flaws. I enjoyed doing it and I understand that it takes time to develop the skills but it's hard to get out of my own head.

Few questions: 1. For those other perfectionists, how do you get past needing it to be perfect?

I'm currently kicking around the idea of buying a wheel for the house and just practicing.

  1. Any recommendations? I used a foot pedal controlled one at the studio.

  2. Or should I just book more classes? It's somewhat difficult with my work schedule for the regular classes to work, so l end up having to book a private session. Thanks in advance!
