Bright ideas: improvised tools

Does anyone else have some handy improvised tools?
When I started playing around with burnishing my greenware, I found that a glass lightbulb offers convenient shape features for burnishing concavities and cleaning up the edges of a rim.
Has anyone else found some favourite improvisations for tools?
