So, I have a question about building or possibly buying a kiln.
I work in construction and have an almost endless supply of combustible materials, wood to be specific. It makes me nuts to be tossing scraps and debris from demolition into the landfill when there seems to be some kind of use for it and one idea I’ve had is to build a very small pottery kiln and use this material as fuel.
The wood would certainly have been dried and would burn hot and quickly but I’ve been wondering if there is any type of kiln that would be able to make use of this stuff.
I’ve read several articles about different kinds of pottery kilns but all of them are a good bit larger than I would find useful. I’m wanting to know if such a design exists for a small kiln. Nothing larger than to fire one or two items at a time.
There’s no shortage of information about constructing kilns available online but I’m having trouble narrowing my search to fit my criteria with my limited knowledge.
Any help would be appreciated
