Been making an effort to stand up straight when I slouch. But is it supposed to hurt?

My posture's always been alright. Never great or awful. But I'm on a self improvement kick rn, and among the list of things I'm trying to do to increase my self confidence is adjusting my posture. I slouch a little, but whenever I make myself stand straight for a while, my body starts to ache. Is this just my body getting used to a new resting position? Or am I doing something wrong?
