The Republic of China has entered into Fujian province for the first time since the Great Collapse and the destruction of what control the KMT had enjoyed at the time in much of China. This time, the Republican forces arrived with the intent to end an Imperial Line and unify China against the only government in China outside of Peking that claimed the title of representative of all of China. The penultimate Southern Expedition, something mythologized in the Blueshirt ideology as a war to return China to what it once was, it was initially envisioned as a war against a number of separatist and disunified provincial governments. The failure of the constitutional convention and the propaganda spewed against the Empire had in turn demonized the Imperial system, its leaders, and its soldiers. Peking would continue to expand its forces and maintain high degrees of government expenditure to supply the now-churning war machine for the fate of China.
