The Polynesian Army stands as the proud expeditionary arm of the Empire, defending our allies abroad protected by our mighty fleet. However, the army's technology, command structure, logistics, and training remain horribly out of date compared to our much stronger neighbors on land and our enemies as well. Inherited from the New Zealand Army Corps, most of our equipment is old interwar British analogs repurposed and transformed under Maori redesigns. No one doubts the tenacity and fearlessness of our Toas, but the reality of modern war requires greater modernization of our land forces to if not exceed the quality of our troops compared to the enemy, at least keep them capable of going toe to toe with most armies even at a disadvantage. After all, the great equalizer is firepower, and copious amounts of artillery, Polynesia has plenty of firepower to bear on any enemy.
The Republic of Taiwan however does have a highly modernized army, while small, their defense forces are some of the best equipped and supplied in the world. Their industry produces enormous quantities of modern tanks, artillery, mortars, machine guns, rifles, and trucks, critical for any modern conflict. The Battle of Hongchung in the south of Taiwan where Polynesian reservists pushed back a Chinese invasion force proved Polynesia's capabilities on land. However the Chinese forces were only vanguard units, small airborne infantry units sent to secure bases for the larger units to arrive. If the war is to be won, our land forces have to be modernized. Thus Polynesian Generals of the front met with the Taiwanese Chiefs of Staff to reorganize Polynesia's army utilizing mass-produced, modern Taiwanese rifles, heavy weapons, and vehicles alongside Polynesia offering to update army training and increase battle readiness amongst the deployed troops in Taiwan. Our ace in the hole is cooperation, sparking the unity of the old Allies fighting together under a common goal in the destruction of authoritarianism. Together for Victory!
