Although the Province of Kiangsi had a rough past with the central government in Peking, they had become one of the most loyal provinces in the Republic of China. That was not long-lived though as already the cracks were showing in the Kiangsi government. With the election of Premier Lee Teng-Hui to head of state a secret Clique within the Kuomintang has formed known as the National Rejuvenation Society, made up of primarily Pro-Japanese KMT officials predominantly raised from Taiwan. Although such a Clique would be vastly illegal within the Republic of China, Lee has taken a very laissez-faire position and refused to do any investigations nor even acknowledging the existence of said Clique. The National Rejuvenation Society is said to hold views that the Republic of China had lost the Mandate of Heaven and thus they must find a replacement. Although this is a vastly unpopular opinion within Kiangsi, the NRS (National Rejuvenation Society) has many high ranking Generals and KMT Officials across the Province and thus they did not need popular support for their goals.
The NRS largely met in secret and only those who spoke fluent Japanese were admitted into the society to ensure that only the most Pro-Japanese officials could be privy to their rituals and meeting plans. The NRS was also a heavily monarchist group, but they had yet to decide which of the currently reigning monarchs in China were authentic and waited for communications from the Emperor on who they should support. As of yet they had not contacted the Qing Empire nor the Zhongguo but communications would be sent out shortly to determine the legitimacy of their claims to the Throne.
The current leader of the NRS is known as "Guo Jie", a high-ranking general within the National Revolutionary Army. He was raised in Japanese Taiwan and served in the Imperial Japanese Army with the Premier Lee Teng-Hui. Not much else is known about him as largely his political career has been an "Old Guard" Kuomintang member who did not break from the party line. However, it was theorised that he did this to remove any suspicion of him being a borderline seditionist. Luckily the NRS has not been officially investigated by neither the Harmonious Guilds or the Kuomintang itself as the Premier has refused any investigation due to a "lack of evidence". There has been rumours the Special Justice Bureau would investigate but that is highly unlikely due to the Commissioner himself being a member of the NRS.
Guo Jie has written a letter that would be sent in Traditional Chinese, hidden in a poem about the blossoming of flowers. When translated it would appear as such:
We at the National Rejuvenation Society sorely miss the days of the Emperor, yet there have been so many claimants to the throne that we are unsure of who holds the Mandate of Heaven.
If the lineage can be proven, we will swear fealty to the Emperor and only act in his wishes. If the lineage cannot be proven we promise to destroy you completely for the insulting act of claiming our Emperors divine right to rule.
We wait for your proof post-haste, your loyal servants await.
