Scandal buzzed in Timatanga hou, Polynesia's Capital city and home of the Imperial government, especially regarding an internal memo inside Parlament regarding certain campaign funding and bribe irregularities with politicians of the United Pa Faction receiving funds from a well connected Filipino businessman who has ties to the Philippine Republican government in Luzon and it's intelligence bureau. Baron Waqa in particular has been found to have received bribes from such businessmen to most likely salt the scars of the war with US Forces South Pacific in order to push the country towards war against the regime in the Visayas. The Memorandum has been verified by the Polynesian Bureau of Foreign Affairs and the IPIA to be truthful. Named after the whistleblower under the pseudonym "Koa" a common surname in Polynesia, the Koa Memorandum and its contents sent shockwaves through the Polynesian political world. Already reeling from a coalition collapse and reorganization, the United Pa Faction has undergone extensive flak from journalists and public officials. Worst of all, the irony that the United Pa Faction, an isolationist party has been caught with its pants down negotiating with foreign interests has not been missed by both its supporters and opponents. The damage has been done however, the inflammatory rhetoric by the Pa Faction has greatly angered much of the existing English-speaking settler and migrant populations as their heritage could be traced to the old New Zealand and Australian dominions and such a memorandum revealing such party to be effectively full of spineless politicians claiming in favor of isolation yet oh so willing to accept foreign money to cling on to power.
The response by the Polynesian establishment was of firm outrage, not at the Visayas oddly enough, but at the Republic of the Philipines who was been pitted squarely in the blame in influencing the formation of a Polynesian coalition. Their diplomatic agreements with the Republic were broken in an outrageous betrayal and their diplomatic ties frozen, revealing that both sides of the brewing conflict in the Philipines courted the intervention of Polynesia into the war. The government in Polynesia was furious at the Philippine government considering an insult and an attempt at deceiving Polynesian foreign policy towards supporting a nation that is preemptively invading another. Despite the fact that the Visayas is an American-led regime, reports of the nature of the Republic of the Philipines show little difference in its authority and legitimacy from the previous US-controlled Philipines under Manuel Quezon before the flood. Regardless of the "actual" validity of the information presented at play, the government has been forced to act and will refuse to participate for or against the Republic of the Philipines, a state of armed neutrality was declared regarding the Philippine conflict.
