Post Body

The Province of Kiangsi since the EVENT has been ruled and governed by a caste of traditionalist Han elites, even with the invasion and subsequent conquering of Kiangsi by the Kuomintang the elite caste still holds large amounts of power and influence. Because of the traditionalist elite influencing much of Kiangsi the culture and fashion of the province largely reflects that.

Guildmembers

The guildmembers in Kiangsi are the vast majority of the traditionalists within Kiangsi due to their allegiance with the Five Harmonious Guilds. Usually guildmembers wear traditional Chinese Hanfu adorned with the Guild Pin that is usually found on their chest. The guildmembers of Kiangsi are largely found in Hanfu in everyday life and it's incredibly common to see men and women in Hanfu then next to them men and women in Zhongshan suits. The guildmembers make up at least 35% of the country.

The culture of the guildmembers is largely separate from the rest of Kiangsi society, they hold very traditional Confucian views as well as being devout Taoists. Because of this most temples in Kiangsi are run by different guilds and are usually fronts for illegal or semi-illegal businesses. Guildmembers usually adhere to old Ming Dynasty styles, Hanfu and long, uncut, and bound hair. Some in the more traditional guilds known as the Tiger Clique still use the Manchu queue haircut, although that is largely out of fashion.

Kuomintang Members

The other large social class in Kiangsi are the members of the Kuomintang and the armed forces. As the Kuomintang conquered Kiangsi under the leadership of Sun Li-jen and Chiang Wei-kuo they instituted strict martial law under the Kiangsi Salvation Army. Because of this the culture of Kiangsi is largely influenced by the strict Kuomintang rule. It is incredibly common for Kuomintang members to always be dressed in a Zhongshan suit whether they are male or female. The Kuomintang and armed forces reach up to 45% of the population of Kiangsi.

The culture of the Kuomintang in Kiangsi is much more modern compared to the guildmembers, most are nominal Taoists who participate in basic religious ritual but not as active in their faith as the guildmembers are. Since they have a more modern attitude on society their haircuts are largely western with short hair and clean shaven faces. It is outright forbidden for a Kuomintang member to have either the Manchu queue or the Ming Dynasty long hair as members with said haircuts most likely hold secret affiliations to either the many secret societies of Kiangsi or the guilds themselves.

The Gūdúzhe, the Loners

The Gūdúzhe are the remaining social class in Kiangsi, neither aligned to the Guilds nor the Kuomintang. The Gūdúzhe are largely unaffiliated with either group and are mainly in jobs and roles that are not entirely essential to the rest of Kiangsi. The Gūdúzhe are subject to discrimination as they have not joined either the Guilds nor the Kuomintang and thus are treated with suspicion as why would a citizen of Kiangsi not join up with either of the governing parties? The Gūdúzhe largely stick to themselves and make up only 20% of the entire country.

The culture of the Gūdúzhe is rather mixed, with influences from Korean and Japanese immigrants who now live in Kiangsi, because of this a lot of them are treated as foreigners even though many were born in Kiangsi proper.
