Captain Paul Davies flipped his revolver’s cylinder back into its barrel after checking for the third time to ensure that it was loaded. He wasn’t going to make any mistakes this time; all the men had been fitted for weapons before leaving, and Paul gauged that they weren’t worse for wear like they had been years prior as amateur pirates. No, they were professionals now, able to take on whatever they had to come up against; a real fighting force.
He stared ahead to the coast. A small town, no bigger than his own over in Tadworth, ripe for the taking. He glanced carefully over the ranks of his compliment; a few dozen men, all sharing a rose patch on their right breast which was awarded to them by the Pirate King for their years of service, and all holding a varied assortment of weaponry. They may have been simple folk, but they hungered for plunder and glory.

It may have been an overstatement to call them professionals, Paul realized quickly after meeting the Albion garrison force in the small port town. His men, though having the upper hand initially with a few well-placed rounds to the backs of unsuspecting Redcoat heads, soon found out that their tactics, strategies, and weaponry were painfully outdated compared to the sleek, modern guns of the Redcoats. The town may have been theirs for a few minutes, allowing Paul’s men to take a few choice items from longshore businesses, but the battle quickly turned sour, and plunder became a vast goal which was far less important than the buccaneers’ lives.
Paul was one of the few who had managed to make it back onto one of the crude landing craft which they had used to dock and far out into the ocean, where the small flotilla swayed stoically in the blue water. The goal of plundering an English town may have failed, but the spirit to fight still raged on within Paul and his remaining crew.
Albion Pirates | Dead | Injured | Units Lost | Units to Repair | Units Uninjured |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Buccaneers | 27 | 63 | 2 | 7 | 6 |
Pirate Marines | 9 | 21 | 0 | 3 | 2 |
Redcoats | Dead | Injured | Units Lost | Units to Repair | Units Uninjured |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Redcoat Veterans | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 4 |
Recoat Regulars | 1 | 3 | 0 | 1 | 9 |
Recoat Partisans | 2 | 6 | 0 | 1 | 14 |
Artillery Veterans | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 |
Artillery Regulars | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 4 |
The paltry pirate incursion was unsuccessful, but a small flotilla led by Captain Paul Davies still blockades a major Albion trade route and will continue to siphon resources until dealt with accordingly.
