Fife had succeeded in its goals, at least for the previous year... and limited in scope they were, it was still a success on paper. However, despite these goals having been met, there has been talk around the court saying that economic development can not be promoted at the instigation of national defense. With neighbors also seeming to come alive, expanding their realms and seeking out new relationships. The Age of Stagnation, for better or for worse, has ended.
Fife can not, must not take for granted distance between itself and its neighbors. With the Firth of Forth becoming contested as international trade begins to revive and with the Shattered Isles slowly coming alive, the pieces are slowly coming together. As such, Fife must ensure that it maintains a relatively large amount of puzzle pieces, if only to prevent others from having it.
