In the highlands of Argyll life had returned to a more simple form, long gone were the cities and urbanism that once covered the United Kingdom. In Argyll the Clans quickly stood up and took an administrative role while the rest of the country feuded in anarchy. An alliance of Clans in Argyll made up of MacDougall, Campbell, MacLean, and Stewart all pledged to bring the highlands back to normalcy and to peace. Originally the Clans focused on their own traditional land but under the guide of Clan MacDougall petty disagreements gave way for cooperation and unity. The Clans formed the "Chomhairle Seasmhach" (The Standing Council) as a way to resolve any disputes that would arise during the reconstruction of the highlands. The Standing Council brought back a traditional way of life for the Scots in Argyll, once again they relied on their leading Clans to help develop their lands and build the economy up once again.

However, not everyone supported the vast reforms and overhauls done by the Standing Council. Some of the Clans that had built up the alliance began to fear that MacDougall was going to rule over the rest as absolute leaders. A small civil war broke out between MacDougall and their MacLean allies versus the Campbells and the Stewarts, cultivating into a few bloody conflicts. The worst of these battles was near Drumsyniebeg Farm wherein two hundred MacDougall allied forces fought against one hundred and thirty Campbell-Steward allied forces. The battle was bloody and ended up with the death of Clan Chief Morag Daniel Campbell and the surrender of the Campbell-Stewart forces. These Clans even despite fighting in a rebellion where taken to CĂširt (Traditional Arbitration) where their crimes were tried by two opposing factions. The rebels were allowed a defence by one of the gentry, but it was soon decided by the prosecution and by Clan Chief Anthony Douglas MacDougall that they were guilt and as such would abdicate so that their sons may inherit. Some claimed the punishment was light, but Chief MacDougall wanted unity in Argyll and a tough punishment would do nothing but divide each of the Clans. The mercy was well received by the would-be rebels and they each made blood oaths to serve Clan MacDougall until they pass to the next life.

With dissent crushed and unity restored, the Clans once again begun to reconstruct Argyll and bring it back to it's former glory, and then some. With Clan MacDougall at the head and the oaths of many a Clan the future is looking bright for the Scots of Argyll.
