The United States of Sinai is at its core an exiled revolutionary government. After the deposing of the Egyptian Junta and the split between the USS (Matrouh) and the People’s Republic of Sinai (Sinai Proper) the government became split between two major parties. These two parties were both coalitions of varying social strata that helped free Matrouh from the Junta and thus evolved into different ideologies during peace.

Young Officers Movement (YOM)

History

The YOM was built up by the working class, especially soldiers and funnily enough young enlisted officers. The YOM prided itself on the unity between the working class and the military declaring them to be both revolutionary cadres. At the start of their creation they upheld an islamic socialist ideology albeit less radical than their brothers in the People’s Republic. The YOM initially wanted to establish an Islamic Republic but their ideology had to be de-radicalised so that the USS would not fall into civil war as soon as it was formed. The YOM since its formalisation as a political party has relegated their ideology to be more palpable to the masses. The YOM still has their own Popular Mobilisation Force thats made up of the other religious demographics in Matrouh such as: Shiites, Coptics, Yazidis, and other groups who were exiled with the rest of the USS government from the Middle East.

The Grand Old Party (GOP)

Factions * Neoconservatism * Right-Libertarianism * Right-Wing Populism

History

The GOP was formed up of the businessmen and middle class of Egypt. They wanted an end to the Junta and were able to find a large majority of the push in Egypt. Originally they fought in the press and through media to help make the movement know in Egypt. This does not mean however that they were not active in the battles, in fact the GOP formed the Popular Mobilisation Forces (Sunni); a well armed and well funded military force that helped win the final push into New Cairo. Their goals came out on top as they were the major theorists behind the United States of Sinai, basing their Republic off the Americans and Europeans across the sea. At the moment they control the Presidency due to their power and political control by the Republican Guard.

Banned Parties

There are a few parties who were banned instantly on formation of the USS, much to their dismay. These groups all fought during the war against the Junta yet were declared to be enemies of the revolution instantly.
