The Guardianship military had always been an active one, spending significant amounts of time either in active conflict or ensuring internal security against threats from old enemies that had been vanquished. That being said, the air force had been set aside as its usefulness diminished against internal foes and peace was at the forefront of the public's mind. More importantly, fuel had always been difficult to come about and its planes were a large consumer.

However, peace seemed like an unlikely thing in the future. Nearly all its neighbors continued to commit atrocities that were hard for the Guardianship to avert its eyes from, and some had even taken explicit aggressive actions against the Guardianship. Fuel had become more common and easier to secure than before, and the coffers of the Guardianship remained full. They would be put to maintaining the Guardianship's military strength.
