A quick moment of chaos ensued behind the podium, leaders of the contracting guild started to get up from their seats, assuming the gathering was over. Kanaan assured them that this was not the case, and that he would resume the speech. Kanaan stepped up onto the podium, his stature was shorter than the emperor, he ordered a teamster to grab a stool. After he was ready, he went on as if the emperor never left -

“Along with the construction of the great tower, we will be reassessing our various departments within the administration. What we can guarantee now is that Babylon will be bigger on the map with each coming month and roads will be built to far off lands that none of you have ever even heard of.”

The crowd was mostly silent. Kanaan wasn't exactly a communications expert, and whenever he did decide to host an event, there was usually someone to talk for him.

“Men and women of Babylon, the Great Empire of Babilim will soon no longer be a place disregarded by the powers of Nejd or India, but rather a great nation that people will turn their heads too, we will build an empire that nobody in this world has ever seen!”

This time, the crowd went wild. Kanaan looked into the audience and spotted several different flags being waved, most of them were the great banner of Babylon, the odd shape made it noticeable compared to others, other flags that he could see included that of Assyria’s and the Saudi’s. What will be the solution with Assyria? He pondered, surely the people will eventually demand the recapture of Mesopotamia, the real Babylon. He temporarily discarded the thought and went on with addressing the people -

“This is a new age for Babylon, and in time, every man, woman and child will want to abandon their own homes and live in the utopia that will be Babylon!”
