History:

After the flood hit the world due to the failure of Elon Musk the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) quickly opened up their refugee camps and tried to help as many as possible that were devastated by the event. Cyprus became a haven of safety for refugees across the Mediterranean, even the Greek and Turkish Cypriots moved past their differences in desire for unity within the country. While the Cypriot government that had previously ruled over Cyprus tried their best to facilitate the refugees, it was clear that the United Nations was far more effective at looking after the disadvantaged. After a few months the Cypriot government voted to pass the mantle of governance to the Peacekeepers and they begun to work on reconstruction efforts.

Due to the safety of Cyprus compared to the rest of the world, refugees flooded the country. Not only did just Turks and Greeks live on Cyprus, but British, Italian, French, Spanish, people all across Europe fled to Cyprus due to promises of living a safer life in this post-apocalypse world. Paired with the fact that majority of the Peacekeepers stuck on Cyprus were from the United Kingdom, the country became a lot more multicultural and in order to unite the populace the four most used languages on Cyprus were declared national. Cyprus kept developing stronger and stronger from the quick effectiveness of the United Nations and over the years the quality of life continued to improve.

Now Cyprus sits as the last legal iteration of the United Nations, one of the few remaining 'old-world' governments. As the United Nations, Cyprus has a goal to ensure peace and prosperity across the world, mediate conflicts, and once again move back into peacekeeping war zones. In Nicosia, there already has been an International Crimes court set up to ensure that the United Nations keeps their legitimacy and legal power at the forefront of the political world.
