The people of New England have remained staunchly independent to Kiryas Satmar, even when settlers arrived the most they reacted with was 'Hm, ok'. Despite this, the New Englanders have separated themselves from the Jewish settlers as their culture seems to be vastly different to the culture of the New York based Satmari. Although the New Englanders hadn't done anything rebellious against the Satmari, they have begun a period of 'civil disobedience'. The New Englanders have refused to purchase from Jewish businesses, reluctantly paid taxes to the Jewish administration, and even refused to be conscripted into the Satmari Defence Force. While they were under no obligation to be conscripted due to them being gentiles and many being Christians, they still refused to be conscripted. This is coupled with the culture of the New Englanders being influenced by Italians, Irish, Japanese, and English, cultures that have not been the kindest to the Jewish people over history.
Now the Satmari must ask themselves the 'New England Question', how should the New Englanders be treated under the Satmari government? Should there be more of an emphasis on conversion? Martial order? It's not like the New Englanders had done anything yet, but the Kingdom was not prepared to have rebellious elements within their Revisionist Zionist State. The only right idea they had was to ban the New England flag, which only added to the slight discomfort of the New Englanders. They threatened to ban the ownership of firearms but a strongly worded letter was sent to the Department of New England affairs and the Kingdom decided against such a hasty law.
For now, New England would exist without too much change from the Kingdom. Settlers would still make their way into the area and try establish their businesses, but still the New Englanders would merely acknowledge them then move on. It seems it would more of a task to fully colonise New England than previously thought.
