The Northeast Defence Command was initially formed pre-flood, years and years ago. It was created to defend the north-eastern regions of the United States against any invaders that would come towards it. Now is no different, the Northeast Defence Command will be formed in the modern day to defend New York against the wanton aggression of the socialist state of Acadia.

A coalition from the Admiralty Oversight Commission, the Board of Directors, and the Scientific Neo-Socialist Bloc have come together and formed an Officers Junta to ensure that democracy and voting does not come into conflict with the war at hand. As of next month, all democratic conventions are put on hold and the absolute power of New York will be placed in the hands of the Northeast Defence Command. The Officers will make up a group of 10 men who will lead the military, the government, and the economy until there is a state of peace in the region.

Major-General Alexander Clark has spoken on the matter claiming:

"To those who say we lost our democracy, I’d say I am sorry, but we cannot afford to waste the time we have now to protect our country against people who wish to destroy our way of life."

As the nation has been placed under the Northeast Defence Command a new flag has been put on all government buildings and all military instillation. The flag has taken the symbol of the previous United States Military and placed it upon an altered Stars and Stripes, now all will know of the legitimacy that New York holds. The government has been altered to reflect the Northeast Defence Command:

House of Directors => The Officers Barracks

Admiralty of New York => The Northeast Defence Command

Admiral of New York => General of the Northeast Defence Command

Elections every 4 years => Cessation of Democracy

Political Parties => Formation of a singular 'Council for National Defence'

Interim Government => Replaced with a Junta made up of Major-General Clark, General Tomassi, General Mason, and Admiral Steele

The military will be placed under the Council for National Defence and the Northeast Defence Command and they will be divided into separate sections under each member of the Junta. This will hopefully prevent any miscommunication based on one Supreme Commander/General of Army, instead each Junta member can properly respond to the issues of their section.
