The Holy Confederacy still upholds pre-flood Southern 'Dixie' values, including the right to bare arms. The Confederacy would be no different, the right to bare arms will be held sacred no matter what. As the Good Book says in Psalms 144:1:

Blessed be the Lord my Rock,

Who trains my hands for war,

And my fingers for battle.

The Confederacy's main battle force is already made up of willing volunteers, encompassing the group known as the "Sons of the Confederacy". Due to the volunteer 'militia' style force of the Confederacy, having citizens armed and trained is an imperative of the local citizens councils. In order to provide more and more support for local citizens to equip themselves to the best of their ability local police and national guard forces will be providing the framework and training to create citizens militias. These local militias once formed will assist the police force in capturing escaped slaves, wanted men, and will provide support in case of shootings or terrorist attacks. The militias will all be run/sponsored by the local Noble House and they will help provide equipment if they are unable to provide their own weapons and uniforms.

They will be giving police training, essentially 'deputising' the militias. However, they are under the rule of law and if there is any anti-Confederate sentiment within the militias they will be watched over very carefully. They will not be shut down unless they make a credible threat to the Confederacy or it's occupants. Because of this, racist and anti-government militias are highly scrutinised and are subject to frequent police and Confederate Ranger visits. As of now, there are seven major militias (over 50 people) in the Confederacy. They are as follows:

• The Oath Keepers (66 People)
• The Redford Rangers (150 People)
• The Southern Border Patrol (230 People)
• Regional Militia of Calico (100 People)
• Sons of Liberty (50 People)
• Goldfield National Troopers (400 People)
• Confederate Volunteers (1000 People)
