When the shore first gave way to the sea, we know not, but we know that is how it be. The tales of our grand daddies and nannies are filled with our battle. The Coast Guard's battle, ma'am. Against the sea. Ocean gives, ocean takes, but in the end, ocean takes, and the coast is taken. The coast shall come to your door, and it shall give way to the sea.

But there ain't no soul who likes that, ma'am, so while we recognise that fact, we choose to make a stand, to be on guard. When the hurricanes come, or when your rivers flood, the Coast Guard will protect you. That's why you pay your dues, that's why you sign on with me. The Coast Guard protects Bienville Park Island and Fiftyfive Island alike, and we're the only ones who can do it. The state senate may tell you whatever, ma'am, we're in charge here.

You sure could vote for mr. Kirkland, he's from Carthedge, ain't he? Now, Kirkland can spend all the time he wants sitting on his ass in Toothenny Beach, but when the hurricanes come, what's he gon' do? He has no boats, no sandbags, no nothin'. We, we've got everything we need to protect good folks like you and your family. That's why I'm saying, ma'am, that you should send your lil' kid down with me to Toothenny, and we're gon' man them up alright, make Coast Guardians out of them. What do you say, ma'am?
