For nearly two hundred years, the Suez Canal was the facilitator of trade from the Indian Ocean into the Mediterranean- two hundred years later, in this wretched flooded landscape, the same is true. Egypt is still the guardian of the Suez as it was a hundred years ago, however now it is no longer a canal but rather a strait. Every year, hundreds of trade fleets pass our checkpoints and enter the Mediterranean from the Red Sea, often stopping in New Cairo city to sell their goods to state-owned corporations. The people that arrive on these ships speak in strange tongues and have dark colored skin, bringing strange goods-spices, gold, idols- from new mysterious lands along the Indian Ocean...

Kenyanyika: Strange men speak of this kingdom alongside the Swahilian coast- they bring coffee, exotic plants, and strange religious artifacts incorporating crosses of Christ and islamic symbols carved into wood said to ward away evil.

Malagasy Commonwealth: The Big Island, some traders nickname the island in Africa traditionally known as Al-Mudghashqar. They bring vanilla and strange animals known as lemurs.

Royaume de l'Afrique du Sud Française: The odd men of this land speak a language that is similar to our Jerusalemite neighbors. They bring books written in their language- "French", which supposedly came from an unknown land in Europe, the land of Faransa, known for it's massive metal tower that can touch the sky.

The United Sri-Pada Market: Every border guard on the Suez has heard of the United Sri-Pada Market. They send out the most ships, and pass through our straits with spices, exotic artifacts, even massive beasts called elephants.

Telangana International and the Malaysia United Syndicates: Two socialist nations, like the UAF- They found us before we found them. Another Indian government and a government holding on to the straits of Malacca in the far east. Their scouts approached our straits and requested that our government open dialogue with them, as three followers of the revolution. Surely this is the beginning of a new ideological friendship.

We have pieced together whispers from the Suez to make an estimation on where these civilizations are. We have sent envoys out to their various nations, in an attempt to contact them. We hope we hear back from them soon.
