Doreius flipped hastily through the Jerusalem Post, searching fruitlessly for anything that peaked his interest. It was dry, to be an educated man in an illiterate nation, but he had hoped that the news would entertain him for at least a little while, as he was unfamiliar with the city past its most prominent landmarks. He finally landed on the local section and placed his eyes on the headline; Plague Lockdown Over!..

A strange sight, considering that he had been in Jerusalem for some time now, and this was an up-to-date paper. He had assumed that the plague had ended quite some time ago, seeing as how there were hardly any precautions in place to enter Jerusalem for pilgrimage. He shrugged and went on reading, trying to see where he could get some half decent food when it wasn’t a fast day.
