Greater Auvergne — France’s Next Step Towards Unification

With Vichyite elections just around the corner, it comes as a shock to the Ordre as Imperial and Southern Republican leaders decide to unify their nations into the French Federation, with Vichy being declared by Napoleon as the capital of the Greater Auvergne Region. Though this was an expected outcome of the escalating tensions between Germany and the French Empire, some order members report that such a sudden unification comes at a bad time for the Ordre, as the yearly meeting between Pieds had yet to have been organized, leaving the administration little time to officialize the facets of Vichyite democracy within the Federation.

A firmly-worded press release was released by the Grandmaster this morning to confirm the ills of the sudden unification, with Sartre stating, among other things, that “Though I have yet to organize politically, we have faith that the sovereignty of the French people shall be ensured within the Auvergne Region. I urge the citizens of Vichy to take part in elections this summer, as they are of the utmost importance to securing a strong place for Auvergne. Without a doubt, I shall be running for governor of Auvergne, as Vichy has been in good hands since my election by the Ordre, and to deny me membership into this burgeoning French democracy would be itself a mistake that could cost this federation its sovereignty.”

Shortly after, Monsieur Sartre announced the formation of Guinefortisme!; the party which he and many other order members will be running under to ensure the continued development of Auvergne. As of now, with the remaining time the Ordre has to levy their de jure executive power in the Auvergne Region, it has been said by order members that elections and political organization will be put at the forefront, with most additional funds from the Ordre being put into supplying post offices, churches, and other community gathering places with polling stations and other amenities for democracy.

Additionally, Sartre announced in his press release that Pied Magne Deniau will be occupying the Federation’s role of Minister of War by his recommendation to co-consul Napoleon, stating that it is was paramount that an individual such as Deniau was appointed the role before “Any other incompetent, paper-oriented politician could steal it from under our swords.”
