Headphone volume question for Mini

I just got the Mini a few days ago and I love it. It was surprisingly loud for such a small speaker. However, I just tried it with headphones for the first time and it was sooo quiet. When using the speaker, I set the volume at 12oclock and it was plenty loud, but through the headphones had to crank it to near full volume to get a decent sound. I tried two different pair of headphones and it didn’t make a difference.

Is there some way to increase the headphone output? I was looking at getting a cheap headphone amplifier but wanted to see if there was some setting I’m missing.
