What recently or long dead Portland restaurant(s) are you embarrassed to say you miss?
Post Body

I'm not embarrassed to say I miss the hell out of Rhinelander's, but I am for:

  1. Tony Romas. Yeah it was a chain and the food was meh, but goddamn those Baby Back Ribs and their sauce brings huge nostalgic memories of my dad thinking it was a swanky place to take us kids.

  2. Chevy's Fresh Mex. Another meh chain with dope chips and salsa and OMG those fajitas with tortillas from "El Machino". Damn near cried when the two local franchises closed.

  3. Pietro's. Yeah I know there's still a few of them still around, but the current parlors are Pietros in name only. Back in their heyday in the 70s and 80s, they merged with Engine House Pizza Company and put out some of the best Northwest-Style (thin cornmeal bottom crispy-doughy crust with great sauce and top quality toppings) Pizza. Then they went through several corporate buyouts and what they serve today is cheap shit with terrible ingredients.
