I searched and didn't see this post on here but the Everett House Community's permit is in limbo all because of neighbor complaints, mainly regarding parking. I can say for sure that the new 118 unit apartment complex is going to make parking a nightmare for those complaining neighbors. They may as well just move now if they are that concerned. I live a few blocks away from the Everett House and although I live in a residential neighborhood plenty of businesses are one block away. Those customers always āstealā my street's parking but that is just portland and not a worthwhile complaint. However a 118 unit apartment building without parking is complaint worthy. I really wish the neighbors near the Everett House Community would realize the absurdity of their complaints especially in the face of inevitable development in a short time anyways. I consistently walk by the Everett House at all times of the day and night and never once has it been even remotely noisy. It's crazy to me that Portland is being destroyed here not buy big shot developers but by community members. In all seriousness have they not offered free memberships to those complaining members. I know I would take a free membership in this case and then head out to Everett House Community and take advantage of everything that wonderful unique business has to offer and try to chill the hell out. It's just sad to see a community business this good put in jeopardy. I really hope compromise can be made and the business can remain an asset to the community for many years to come.
