Is there anywhere in Portland I can go (for relatively cheap) that will teach me how to grow plants? Can any of you help?

Post Body
I have a black thumb. I don't know how, my parents were farmers, and I am super talented when it comes to making friends with animals and taking care of the environment. I however, can't garden worth a damn. Every plant I get my hands on, no matter how well I follow the instructions, dies on me and I don't know why. I plan on living off grid some day, with my own garden...but how am I going to do that when I can't grow anything? Is there somewhere accessible via Trimet that will teach me? And especially someplace where everything is hands on and up close and personal, since I'm visually impaired and can't really do typical classroom setups?
