I think the issue is people are unable to separate the two instances. Both parties committed a crime to the other separately. Just because one party committed a crime first doesn’t mean the shooter was justified in him committing his crime(s). They should’ve absolutely known they could’ve been killed in self defense but they also didn’t deserve to die given these circumstances. The shooter is a murderer and just because the people he shot were criminals will not absolve him. He is about to find out how badly he fucked up soon.
This dude forgot the cardinal rule of law breaking - never break two laws at once. He’s about to get proper fucked by the system.

If that’s true then that means the prosecutors will find this out as well. Can’t imagine that would play out well in front of a jury for this dude.
