So I have a fully paid off 04 e55 AMG i have owned for a few years, By far the best car I have ever owned out of my 11 previous, mostly beamers. I actually āsettledā for the e55 because a 996 was out of budget.
i digress, I was told to wait iāll get the porsche one day as some would say i have significant time left on the ticker. although the way i see the only real thing is the the present and i could die without owning a porsche which i have been infatuated with since my father had 924 when i was a kid.
NOW HERES THE SITUATION: I could trade in the e55 for a turbo S. the E55 has known reliability and despite it needing work it has been extremely reliable throughout my ownership, and i value that in a car. i also am not a silver spoon kid, i do most work on all my cars myself a least what I can. My E55 has 170k miles although that doesnāt worry me as much, as these engines are notorious for going well over 200k
The Turbo S is beautiful one owner black but its had 147k miles. It is in excellent condition the exhaust sounds great and i may test drive it but i dont want to get infatuated. I would be getting into a car loan of about 27k. thatās alot for that many miles yet i know porsches reliability I feel like the getting almost any loan for a car with those miles could land me in a situation. the car is not at a certified pre owned by porsche, its a used dealer that sells exotic and foreign cars.
TLDR: is the 2014 porsche panamera turbo s worth trading my legendary raising in value 05 E55 AMG that practically does the same speed with no handling benefits? i am only considering because porsche is my absolute favorite car manufacturer and i do like the panamera and the turbo S is the only panamera i would get. also the e55 kills my gas tank as my daily
