Firebird replacement speakers

Hey guys,
So I've been meaning to replace the speakers in my 01 firebird. It came with the monsoon cd system originally (W55) so I want to know whether you think it's better to get oem speakers, or to go aftermarket. I've been doing some research and saw that if I go aftermarket, I'm going to need to play with the cable to hook up the speakers properly.
I'm looking to replace the side panel speakers and possibly my door speakers depending on what you think is best. Any thoughts or suggestions?
