So first off, this is a great little community. Although I'm mainly a lurker you guys seem very knowledgeable and helpful about the subject of pomades. I'm glad to see such support for local brewers. I wish a lot of this stuff was around when I was younger. Im only 24 so don't think I'm an old dude haha. When I was in high school I used Murrays Superior Hold to tame my curly and thick hair. I hated that stuff, it made my hair follicles really thin and my barber kept telling me that if I kept using it I would go bald because of the petrol in it.
That's when I learned about water based pomades, I bought La Bellas Water Based Pomade and I used that for about 2 or so years until Layrite, and Sauvecito started popping up at my local barbershops and hair salons.
Now I'm back to using oil based pomades and my current favorite is Lockharts heavy hold. Its not heavy on my hair, easy to comb through (which is amazing). I love it all the new products coming out, and I'm excited to see what new brands will be rolling around next.
TL;DR. I'm just super thankful there's a pomade revival and a bunch of good stuff to choose from.
