... and stop upvoting divisive and derision-riddled accusations against the other side.
Seriously. Both sides; republican and democrat. Conservative and liberal. Progressive and otherwise. You, me, and everyone share the same rights and liberties as everyone else in this grand country of ours. It's what makes America, well, America. It's time we stop shifting the blame game. We need to stop yelling about 'Y'all Qaeda' and rural voters being racist and the like, and instead come together and actually talk about what is making us so damn upset.
Because that's what this is. There is anger in America. Anger at the establishment, at the economy, at just about everything. Hell, I'm angry. Pissed off, in fact. And it's in these moments of anger that we will do anything and everything just to show that we still have some kind of control, or just to snub someone else, or just because we can.
Trump supporters are not the enemy. They are simply the opposition. They are not fascists, white supremacists, Muslim-haters or anti-women or anti-LGBT. Some may be among them. Some may be among us. It's time we stop yelling at those who differ with us, and instead seek to understand and come together as a nation to better ourselves and our nation.
Talk with people. Understand why people are angry, and then ask them what you can do - or what our movement can do - to help them. They are hurting just as much as we are, and I can guarantee you a lot of people voted for him simply as a political Molotov cocktail, and an idea of 'Damn be the repercussions, we're already screwed'. The more we yell and deride, the more galvanized people will become against our movement.
Understanding and compassion while maintaining staunch opposition is the way we should be moving forward, not name blaming. Not rioting. Let's move forward together, for a truly great America.
