Database Storage Drive Politics
Post Body

An email chain within the engineering department of my current $TechCompany. $F is my wife (Brii in /u/BriiNLao) who does not work for $TechCompany but sent me responses via chat as I relayed it to her.

$A makes a poll about where people store their database files and then emails the results:

Subject: The D: 's have it.

Question: I use the D: location for SQL Storage on my Dev Machine.

  • D: 7
  • C: 3
  • Z: 1

$B: The vote was rigged! I want a recount.

$A: It’s one of those fuzzy math statistics type things. Half of the vote is in we have a determined trend we must know the outcome.

$C: According to the electoral college, C:\ wins!

Me: Too soon.

$C: C:\ is the best drive!! Huge!!

$D: Make C:\ great again.

$F: C would have won if you don't count the 7 illegal votes for D

$A: The one illegal vote was for Z which wasn’t even on the ballot … Thanks Jeff.

$B: #Zdrivesmatter

$E: Apparently my write in for Q wasn’t counted. Clearly a rigged election. I won’t accept the results.

$A: You didn’t have one of the three approved ID’s.

$G: In other news, C approved a measure to create a partition

$F: And keeps insisting the database is going to pay for it

$B: It's just a "temporary" partition

$H: When I was young, we mounted our SQL databases to the disk in the A: drive, popped the DOS into the B: drive, loaded up SQL Server from tape and we LIKED IT!!!

$G: C won fair and square and Sales interference had nothing to do with it.

$E: Just because the operating system is loaded on C doesn't mean there's a conflict of interest.
