A Suggestion Regarding the Billiard Ball Rules
Post Body

Hello! Here's something I decided to post after a discussion I had on the Discord regarding these rules. Hope it's cool.

Now I'm not asking to change the billiard ball rules. I have my gripes with them, but they're very niche gripes (7-ball having too broad scope for one), that don't really affect my comic-making (I've yet to consider a script involving say, ancient Europeans) and I know that this community isn't accepting any rule changes of that sort anytime soon so asking would probably be futile.

What I want to change is the skin color justification. Because I frankly do not like it. For one, because of its broad scope, 7-ball covers a lot more than the "red-skinned" American Indians, so already the connection there's a bit thin. And also, 3-ball is also red, so it could theoretically work for them. And ofc, no one actually has billiard ball colors for skin, but I guess this is covered by the skin colors being more stereotypical than anything.

I think it might be better to say that these rules are in much the same realm as upside-down Poland. Something arbitrary yet foundational that's not likely to change anytime soon simply because it's been that way for a long time now. Kahn said something to that effect here.(apologies btw if the quote is unwanted)

Thoughts I guess? Also I understand I'm not the first person to make suggestions or inquire about the billiard ball rules, so really sorry if the point I'm making here is redundant.
