Game is 1/2 nl.
UTG 2 straddles to 4. I'm dealt QQ in the bb and raise to 12. Callers are UTG 2, hj, and sb.
Flop comes 10d, 7c, 3s.
sb checks.
I c-bet 18.
UTG 2, hj, and sb call.
Turn comes Kd.
sb bets 20.
I fold. UTG 2 folds. hj calls.
River comes Qc (I shoot myself in my mind).
sb bets 20.
hj calls.
sb has 3d for one pair.
hj has nothing.
Note: I folded my QQ because they were only one pair and a King had appeared in a 4-way pot. I thought the odds were good that someone had another one given the fact they were all calling aggressively (no time spent thinking and overall confident body language).
However, what I failed to take advantage of was the fact that the sb and hj had already proven way too loose with their pre-flop hand selection, and I mean fearless Gus Hansen loose. The sb in particular had already given $80 away (after buying in for $40 twice) by being aggressive with garbage, and, looking back now, I think I should have gambled after he bet on the turn and shoved. Honestly, knowing that I folded the best hand so easily makes me sick, and what makes it worse is the dread that comes from after making a horrible decision.
But, if there are multiple players in a hand with wide ranges, isn't it not out of the realm of possibility that at least one of them has a weak King?
Are situations like these ones where you're supposed to accept risk and throw all your money in?
