Quick Question with IV Breeding and Destiny Knots

So I'm playing Pokemon Sword and I'm trying to make a Fairy team. To get a perfect Togekiss I must breed two 5 IV Togetics together (Which I have thanks to a 4 IV Ditto.) I gave them both Destiny Knots. It seems like the best I'm getting are 5 IV Togepis and I am not sure if I'm doing it right. The other Pokemon I've done this with have been much quicker so it makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Here's my question: when breeding for the perfect Pokemon is giving each Pokemon a Destiny Knot wrong? Should I just give one Pokemon a Destiny Knot?
