Why was Extreme Speed nerfed?

Just completed Pass 3 (hooray for the Dahlia nerf!), but I couldn't help but notice that Extreme Speed was reverted back to Normal-type. Is there a reason for this? Entei loses coverage to hit Waters, and Skravroom loses a great STAB move. I don't think they deserved such a blow imo...
