Title says it all, gotta say this is by far the best pokemon game I've ever played, HANDS DOWN! My run details contains spoilers as a heads up :)
I started with beldum ofc & my team quickly grew when I got both alolan Sandshrew & mawile, 2 very key players in my team. Id eventually raise a drillbur from the starting cave as well to join the team.
First obstacle was Vega, as I had very little recourse to deal with him. The best bet was a Lucario I got before the 1st gym, but he alone was not enough. With a little RNG luck, I managed to squeak by him after MANY attempts to get the luck I needed.
Rest of the game scales up quickly from here, but so did my options for pokemon. Eventually added in a magnezone, and was a special attacker and defender my team really needed. I didn't really use klag or bronzong as I basically had those already with metang and magnezone.
I got through most of the mid game by using a strat of focus sash metal burst combo, but this strategy came to a quick halt against the Lugia/ho-oh fight. This fight was by far the most crazy. I employed the help of an Emploeon & a lot of priority moves to get rid of their barriers, I was stuck on this fight for quite a while though.
Getting closer to the end, I picked up a very key player (and one of my favourite pokemon) in the form of bisharp. Stab Sucker punch with a swords dance wrecked a lot of pokemon, and with him being defiant, he got a lot of attack up. Also capable of using metal burst :)
Moving to East borrius, I picked up an Aegislash, an absolute monster to the AI by using kings shield. Also in redwood village I picked up a siczor that saw little use as well.
With little to nothing to stand in my way after the 7th gym, it was off to the elite 4. My original team had siczor instead of Emploeon, but the champion fight was too difficult without him. His ice beam attack with a weakness policy just wrecked Jax's zygarde & mega Rayquaza.
And that's how I beat one of the hardest runs I've ever set myself too :)
