Post Body

Hello everyone! I’m so glad to have found this sub. I currently live in Japan and me and my kids are getting into playing and collecting Pokémon cards. Can you give me your opinion on which Japanese cards and booster packs I should be on the lookout for? We have so many options here since Pokémon is EVERYWHERE! I just want to make sure I’m spending my money wisely. For example, we can buy the new booster packs and complete decks at nearly any store, but we have second hand stores with a never ending selection of cards at varying prices (from ¥30 to ¥50,000). I sometimes come across unopened booster packs from older series.

Edit: additional question- I have noticed that some of the most expensive cards I find are energy. Can anyone fill me in on why?
