So I suppose that this is a very broad, fairly opinionated question, but I would just like to know where to start.
I was big into the Pokemon Trading Card game as a kid, but there was like no one in my school or neighborhood that was into it when it came out, and as I grew older I sort of just aged out in a sense. Cut to me now like 20 years later and having gotten into Magic, I suddenly just have some nostalgia to open some packs and just enjoy that feeling of looking through cards and seeing the art.
The thing is, I have absolutely no idea where to start. I know I don't want to spend a ton of money, so the super old editions are completely out, but I also just sort of want to know what people think is the most "fun" set to open for fun. Whether it's due to the artwork, the surprise of the cards as they come out, the feel of the cards, and yes, some "money" can be involved even if this is mostly in the name of collection and enjoying an old portion of my childhood that I want to start reliving.
Thanks in advance!
