I have gotten back into collecting and I would like some tips!

So I have gotten back into collecting and I went through my old cards and I have quite a few worth some money. I put the ones worth a lot in top loaders but what other tips do you guys have for storing and ensuring the safety of cards? How do you store cards in top loaders or cards you put in sleeves? Is it just as safe to put them in binders as it is in sleeves? Or should you put them in sleeves then in the binder?
