Date mechanics aren’t working, I haven’t tampered with date in system

So the pokelotto and other date dates mechanics haven’t been working on my copy of Shield. I’ve even gone as far as to transfer all my Pokémon to Home and restart the game but when I get to the point where I can use the lotto or any of the other date/time mechanics they don’t work. I’ve never messed with the time or date on the system so I wouldn’t expect that to be the issue. Should I just get a new copy of the game? Is it my system? Any and all help is appreciated!
